NFL Play 60 adds FITNESSGRAM® to its Line Up
The Cooper Institute, a non-profit organization, has joined forces with the National Football League to launch FITNESSGRAM® into schools and after-school community organizations. This team effort has been created to promote physical activity and combat the obesity epidemic that is challenging our youth.
Physical activity and fitness are not only important to improve health. Recent studies have indicated that physical activity and fitness levels are associated with improved academic outcomes, including academic performance, attendance and discipline (i.e. truancy, drugs, alcohol, and violence). PLAY 60 is the NFL’s national youth health and fitness campaign, focused on making the next generation of kids the most active and healthy by encouraging them to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.
